So it begins, after months and months of planning and organising, emailing and collecting registrations and chasing fees…we reach the begining..Speakers for all streams arrived and were ready and gunning to start their sessions. We woke up at around 6:30 and I had to rally the Miri contingent at the hotel. So, from tour guide, I transitioned to Stream Anchor once we boarded the bus to DUMC Dream Centre, the venue for this year’s conference.
(Pictures taken on this day were jointly taken by myself and Sharon Tan Li Li)
Her vision to equip the generations in media has got me to where I am today. Her passion towards media and God has inspired many. So when Choon Ean calls for a meet up, the whole country will rally to her.
This year, I managed to rope in 3 churches to send their media teams. All spread out across the streams offered this year namely, Photography, Video, Audio, Video-Fx and a Pastor’s Stream
Nothing can pass-by Janice Lee’s watchful eagle eyes. She and Calvin were the people behind, around and over the scene, busy arranging/ferrying/organizing all the outstation delegates from airport -> hotel -> conference and back.
Awesome job! Considered it was done by only 2 people.
Flown in specially from KK, Sabah; (From left to right) Mun Yee, Crystal and Bernice were the operations girls. Every pencil, thumb tack, xlr cable, HD Camera, Light stand, down to a roll of toilet paper was made available due to these 3 iron ladies. Their sheer attention to detail and unlimited energy contributed to the effeciency of the conference.
It’s also a time to meet up with old friends and make new friends.
Then we split into our respective streams.
You can say, he gave me the push to go into photography
His sessions were powerful and inspiring. I could see so many of the photographers with the same look I had when I first attended his workshop.
If you don’t know by now, myself and Nick Lim are huge fans of Jenny Sun! + her work
We were almost reduced to school girls when we saw her in person! For years, I’ve been following her work and then to have finally got the chance to work with her during this conference was a blessing!
His attention to detail is unmatched and I personally dub Ke Wynn as the reflection master. His portraits are just simply stunning! I still have not figured out how he manages to get such hot brides!
Her fresh and relaxed approach towards her photography isn’t just all, she’s so down to earth and yet she’s got depth in what she sees through her lens. I just simply love her style in photography.
Charge Up! is not just about sharing ideas and creative concepts. It’s also about appreciating the brave men and women who have been serving behind the scenes, for whatever the event may be, from church events to videos, to weddings, it’s about appreciating the effort, and to revive our mind and spirit for the coming year!
So here’s Choon Ean, appreciating the brave souls behind the Charge Up! Scene for 2010 Conference.
Loving every moment i’ll bet.
She was really tired…but she chipped in the effort yoh!

Really great pictures Ian & Sharon! Even though my eyes are half-closed in one of them – that dastardly bout of blinking I had on the 1st day! =P
Really like the shots of Pr Sivin! And the caption under Oli as one of the “steam coaches”! =D
Lovely photos, but the best thing is the commentary! You’re hilarious Ian! I love the part about being one of the most good looking guy in Charge Up… and your school girl thingy! Should come with uniform. Blue in colour.
